Orlando Pirates are still believed to be chasing the signatures of Ajax Cape Town’s Riyaad Norodien and Abbubaker Mobara, depending on the Urban Warriors’ valuation of the players.
The Siya crew recently reported that the Buccaneers were keen on trying to swipe versatile defender Abbubaker Mobara away from the Cape Town-based outfit in order to build for the future, but now it seems he isn’t the only Ajax player in which they are interested.
According to Siya sources, Pirates are eager to land both players in the next transfer window when it opens at the end of the current season, though, given their importance to Coach Roger de Sa’s side, Bucs may struggle to land their targets.
It is believed that, in order to ward off interest from clubs locally, Ajax have put a hefty transfer valuation on the heads of both Norodien and Mobara and, while they are willing to allow them to leave to an interested overseas club, it would take a hefty transfer fee to see them move within the Absa Premiership.
Norodien (20) has one goal and three assists to his name for Ajax so far this season and is highly expected to be part of the travelling party when South Africa’s U23s make the trip to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, later this year.
Pirates are expected to delve into the market in the next transfer window and use some of the money made from selling Kermit Erasmus to ensure that their 2016/17 season goes more smoothly than the current one.
Should Pirates do everything in their power to sign these two players? Which other player(s) should the Bucs look to sign?
