Orlando Pirates Striker Unlikely To Make His Debut Just Yet
Orlando Pirates fans may have to wait a little longer to see their newly signed Zambian striker in action for the team.
The Buccaneers announced on Tuesday morning that newly signed Augustine Mulenga looks set to miss the weekend’s game against Chippa United.
As confirmed by the club, the Zambian forward picked an injury in training.
“Newly signed attacker Augustine Mulenga looks set to miss out the game against Chippa United at the weekend. The 27-year old, who is expected to get his work permit later this week injured himself in training and is expected to be out for at least two weeks,” Bucs stated on the club’s official website.
“According to the Bucs medical staff, Mulenga strained his knee after attempting to shoot whilst in an awkward position. The Zambian international has since seen a specialist who has allayed fears of any extensive damage and has recommended that the player rest and treat his strain,” the club confirmed.
Pirates have further announced that Diamond Thopola is doubtful for the game against Chippa.
“The fullback is still nursing a quad strain injury he suffered in Pirates’ 2-0 win over Ajax Cape Town,” the Soweto giants confirmed.
