Bucs Striker: The Derby Is Big All Over The World
Orlando Pirates Striker Talks Soweto Derby
Orlando Pirates’ Justin Shonga is looking forward to playing his first Soweto derby against Kaizer Chiefs.
The two-goal hero after Pirates’ 4-2 win over Chippa United at the weekend has fond memories of watching arguably the biggest football game on the continent.
Shonga says he used to watch the game during the time of Zambian legends Isaac Chansa and Collins Mbesuma, playing in the PSL.
“The derby is big all over the world. I started following it more when Chansa & Mbesuma were playing. As Zambians we were proud of them playing in such big games,” said the striker as tweeted by Bucs.
Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic and his technical team will hope that the 21-year-old forward will continue with the impressive form he showed at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium this past weekend.
