There has been no update from Orlando Pirates on the reported injury of Thamsanqa Gabuza.
In the last match for Pirates prior to the FIFA international break, which was against Black Leopards on August 28, Gabuza was said to have been injured when he walked off the field after celebrating a goal.
At the time, Bucs’ Head Coach Milutin Sredojevic said the striker went off because prior to the goal he was kicked in the muscle.
In their latest update on the team's injuries, Bucs confirmed last week the recovery of Augustine Mulenga and Innocent Maela who were both selected for the South African and Zambian national teams respectively.
The club further confirmed that goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo has been working with the Strength and Conditioning team after the removal of pins in his ankle, while the trio of Musa Nyatama, Thabo Qalinge and Gladwin Shitolo were said to be busy with their rehabilitation.
There has been no update on Gabuza as yet, however, the 31-year-old will not be available for selection for this coming weekend’s match against SuperSport United, as well as against Cape Town City on September 19, as he will be serving his two-match suspension for the red card against Leopards.
