Orlando Pirates have landed the signature of Baroka FC striker, Thabiso Kutumela, beating other PSL big guns to one of the most sought after signatures in Mzansi.
The 22-year-old is the leading goalscorer in the NFD with 14 goals and his impressive performances for Bakgaga have not gone unnoticed.
Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United and Platinum Stars, have all been linked with the player in recent months.
As recently reported by the Siya crew, a contract had been agreed to in principle between Pirates and Baroka, which would see the player move from Limpopo to Gauteng at the end of the season.
A source close to Pirates has now confirmed to the Siya crew that Kutumela has signed for the club.
“It’s a done deal. Of all the teams that have been keen on the player, the club showed most interest in him. It has been finalised,” said the source.
The source confirmed that Kutumela is likely to reunite with his former teammate, Gift Motupa, at Pirates for the 2016/17 season, as the relationship between the club and Baroka continues to grow.
With Kutumela moving to the Mayfair based side, how should the Buccaneers’ starting XI look? Which other signing(s) should Pirates look to make?
