Pirates Attacker Hails Dikwena Move

Orlando Pirates’ Riyaad Norodien has hailed his loan move to Platinum Stars, saying that he wants to use the experience to get back to his best and keep the team up.

The 22-year-old completed a loan move to Dikwena on the final day of the transfer window this week, with the Buccaneers hoping for him to make a full recovery from a recent injury and a boost in his confidence with some much-needed game time.

Now, as Stars look to try and climb up from the bottom of the Absa Premiership table, Norodien has his sights set on using his loan to recover his form.

He said in a statement this week, “It's a good move for me. My goal is to help the team and get game time under my belt. It's also good for me to reflect on life. I have been in Jo’burg for a year and half. A new challenge brings new things for a player. I hope to do well for Platinum Stars and myself.

“The facilities here and the players are quality. It's a matter of everyone coming together and say this is what we want - to get out of danger. We all need to come together and come out as one. We need to come out because at the end of the day the people of Rustenburg need Platinum Stars because it's the only team from here that is in the PSL.”

He went on to say, “As a player, it's important to keep your mind clean and work hard. It looks like a good squad and everybody is fighting for their place in the team. If we can all want the same things and move the team out of relegation. We are here to work and hopefully the table will turn and we move up.”

Meanwhile, with a potential debut against Chippa United on the horizon, he concluded, “It's vital to get the three points especially that we are playing away. Chippa are a good team. We have to give our best so we get the points.”

Stars travel to Chippa today as they look to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat to Pirates, a game in which Norodien played a role in for the Buccaneers.
