Orlando Pirates players have reported back at the club in preparation of the new season, with all of the team’s stars from last season, as well as new signings back from the off-season break.
As reported by the Siya crew, during last week’s announcement of nine new players signed by the club (Brilliant Khuzwayo, Kudakwashe Mahachi, Asavela Mbekile, Ben Motshwari, Vincent Pule, Linda Mntambo, Abel Mabaso, Paseka Mako and Meshack Maphangule), Pirates confirmed that the team would return on June 18 (Monday).
With the team having reported for duty, the new signings have met their new teammates led by captain Thabo Matlaba. The Buccaneers have shared on the club's official Twitter account a short video of players being welcomed by the technical team in the form of a teambuilding exercise.
Mpho Makola, Thamsanqa Gabuza, Issa Sarr, Abbubaker Mobara and Ayanda Nkosi are some of the stars from last season’s squad that have returned to welcome their new teammates.
“I would say that we have done all possible means in order to prepare for the pre-season in the best possible way. As you could see, every detail is planned properly from this activation, and receiving the players back today where the team building aspect was there and (the) presentation of the season in front of us as a kick-starting aspect that will help us to (enter) the season in the best possible way,” head coach Milutin Sredojevic says in the clip tweeted by the club.
