Report: Goalkeeper Leaves Pirates
Orlando Pirates Reportedly Part Ways With Goalkeeper
Orlando Pirates have reportedly parted ways with one of the goalkeepers.
According to reports, Nigerian keeper Emmanuel Daniel is no longer with the Buccaneers. Since arriving at Pirates last year, Daniel struggled for game-time in the team.
Following the departure of Brighton Mhlongo to Chippa United prior to the start of the current campaign, Daniel had hoped to get a chance to prove his worth at the Soweto giants.
However, it has been Wayne Sandilands, Jackson Mabokgwane and Siyabonga Mpontshane, who made his first appearance of the season against Ajax Cape Town in the Nedbank Cup, that have played in goals under coach Milutin Sredojevic and his technical team.
Reports in Nigeria indicate that Daniel has had his contract with Pirates terminated.
“I’m no longer with Pirates,” he reportedly confirmed to Score Nigeria.
With nine games remaining in their Absa Premiership campaign, as well as only the Nedbank Cup, Bucs are likely to finish the season with the current goalkeepers on their books.
