Orlando Pirates have provided an update on the club’s newly signed Brazilian defender and gave insight into how the player has settled in at his new surroundings.
Orlando Pirates confirmed the signing of Caio Marcelo earlier this week as Head Coach Milutin Sredojevic and his team are preparing for their match against SuperSport United at the Orlando Stadium after the FIFA international break.

As confirmed from the Soweto giants, the 20-year-old Brazilian defender says he is ready to get going with his new club.
“I am settling in very nicely at the Club. My teammates and the technical staff have been very accommodating and welcoming ever since I’ve arrived,” Marcelo told Bucs’ official website with the club confirming that he spoke through an interpreter.
The left-footed centre-back was part of Pirates’ pre-season tour where he was involved in matches against the likes of Democratic Republic of Congo giants TP Mazembe, Zambia teams Forest Rangers and Power Dynamos, as well as Cape Town City and National First Division side Stellenbosch FC.

“This is the first time playing outside of Brazil, therefore, I don’t expect an easy ride. I still have to get used to my surroundings, get to understand my teammates and a new style of play. All this takes time so I’m not in a hurry as there’s still a lot to learn,” the player has been quoted as saying by the club.
