Bucs Provide Injury Update

Orlando Pirates provide injury update on key players ahead of final league game

Orlando Pirates have provided an in-depth injury update ahead of their final league fixture of the 2017/18 season against Free State Stars this weekend. 

The Buccaneers will be without several key players for the upcoming fixtures owing to serious injuries according to the club’s official website. 

The Siya Crew has already reported that Luvuyo Memela will miss out on the final fixture due to the injury he sustained in the 1-0 defeat to Cape Town City. Pirates will also be without influential midfielders Musa Nyatama and Mpho Makola for the final game of the season.

The statement on Bucs' official website read as follows: 

“Musa Nyatama who sustained a knee strain during the Cape Town City match and is currently undergoing physiotherapy. According to the medical department, Nyatama is expected to be out for up to a week. 

“Mpho Makola, another casualty from the Cape Town City match, is suffering from an ankle sprain and is expected to be out for up to three weeks. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation.

"Mark van Heerden and Bernard Morrison have doctor’s appointments today, with Morrison attending to a groin injury sustained during training, while van Heerden addresses a foot injury.

"Gladwin Shitolo who has been dealing with Sesamoiditis of his big toe has been on prescribed medication and will undergo a fitness test later in the week to determine his readiness for the match against Ea Lla Koto". 

Meanwhile following on Soccer Laduma’s earlier report on Memela, the club confirmed that the 30-year-old underwent successful surgery, where his medial meniscus was repaired. 

Thembinkosi Lorch and Thabiso Kutumela are on the long-term injury list and continuing with their rehabilitation programme. 

The match takes place on Saturday at 15:00.

@Tea Buc Totally agree with the 1st part of yr comment. For the secon part, well I might add that qalinge for me is stagnant. He makes the same mistakes as when he first came to the club..

We Are Not Going Anywhere With This Micky Mouse Of A Fitness Trainers. I Don't Remember Any Single Time When The Team Had A Clean Bill Of Health This Season. But As For Qalinge And Shitolo, I Think Its Time To Release Them, They Are Injury Prone

Not a big deal besides we all know Freestate Stars have a final the following weekend therefore with that in mind must bring in their fringe players or lie down & play dead on the day to save their best for the final.
