Pirates Player Ratings V Stars

Soccer Laduma rates the individual performances of the Orlando Pirates Players following their 2-0 win over Platinum Stars on Saturday, 15 February 2015.

Brighton Mhlongo: 6

Had very little to do and was a spectator for large parts of the game. He did what was require do him when called upon

Happy Jele: 6

Was a bit quiet in his right-wing back role. He did not get forward as much as his coach would have liked, but he did do his defensive duties well.

Rooi Mahamutsa: 7

Was solid in his centre-back role and didn’t really put a foot wrong. He made one crucial tackle inside the box on Ngele when Pirates were down to ten men.

Siyabonga Sangweni: 6

Was solid in his centre-back role and didn’t really put a foot wrong.

Thabo Matlaba: 6

He did well down the left-flank and added the extra man in attack. He also performed his defensive duties well.

Thabo Qalinge: 6

Saw quite a lot of the ball down the right flank and his work rate was high. He posed a constant threat in attack down the flank, but his deliveries into the box were not great. Was substituted on the hour mark.

Issa Sarr: 6

Was solid in his defensive midfield role. He provided a good buffer in front of the defence and helped out in attack with his defence splitting passing. He did have a chance to score in the first half, but his header at a corner-kick was inches wide.

Thandani Ntshumayelo: 6

Was a quiet game for the central midfield and he did not have much of an impact on the game. Was substituted in the 82nd minute.

Sifiso Myeni: 6

He was not at his exciting best down the left flank. He did get forward on a few occasions and supplied some good crosses into the box. Was substituted in the 70th minute.

Oupa Manyisa: 7

Had a great game playing just behind the strikers. He was creative and had a hand in both his side’s goals, making the first one and setting up the attack for the second one.

Lehlohonolo Majoro: 6

He had a great game while on and scored his side’s opening goal, but ruined his afternoon with some ill-discipline which saw him stamping on a player and receiving a straight red card.

Substitutes

Thabo Rakhale: 6

Came on as a substitute in the 60th minute, but did not make much of an impact. Was average.

Lennox Bacela: 7

Came on in the 70th minute and looked lively. He scored the second goal which sealed victory for Pirates.

Ntsikelelo Nyauza: N/A

Came on in the 82nd minute and did not have enough time to make an impact.
