It sounds like Orlando Pirates still have plans to send Sello Japhta out on loan in the future, with the player seemingly not in the team’s immediate plans.
It was reported by the Siya crew in July, two weeks after the attacking midfielder was signed by Pirates from Free State Stars, that the Soweto giants had been considering sending the player out on loan.
Unlike Ayanda Nkosi and Justice Chabalala, the two players he was signed with from Ea Lla Koto, Japhta has yet to get his chance to play for the Buccaneers.
According to sources, Japhta’s name has been mentioned with a link to Golden Arrows, when the names of players likely to be loaned from Pirates were being discussed.
“Sello Japhta is likely to be loaned. It sounds like there are no plans to use him regularly in the team this season. He could be loaned to Golden Arrows if the club wants a player for his position. He is likely to go out on loan in January,” said the source.
The Buccaneers will be hosting Cape Town City in an Absa Premiership game at Orlando Stadium tonight and it remains to be seen if Japhta will still be left out of the 18-man match day squad.
