Bucs Midfielder Not In Camp As His Future Is Unclear
Orlando Pirates Midfielder Facing Unclear Future
Orlando Pirates midfielder, Donald Mokondelela, is unsure about the future after he was left behind by the team when they left for their training camp.
Bucs are currently in Rustenburg in the North West for their training camp.
As reported in issue number 1027 of Soccer Laduma, Mokondelela has been facing an uncertain future with Pirates since the end of his loan stint with Chippa United.
The 25-year-old hoped that he would get a chance to train under Bucs’ new coach, Milutin Sredojevic, for a chance to be registered for this season.
However, the player has been left out of the Serbian coach’s squad that travelled to the North West, as confirmed by insiders in Bucs’ camp.
“Donald Mokondelela isn’t with Orlando Pirates at the moment and it’s not clear what is happening with him. It’s like he is adding numbers at Pirates as things are because he is not even in camp with the team in Rustenburg. He is frustrated because he doesn’t know whether he is coming or going,” said the source.
Contacted for comment, the former Baroka FC player confirmed that he is currently training on his own.
“You must remember that I was on loan at Chippa. When I came back I trained with the team (Pirates). When the team was preparing to leave for camp on Friday I was called and told that I shouldn’t go to camp. I was told to go to the office instead.
“I was told that I would be called again sometime this week. I did mention to the club that I can’t just stay without training with the team. For now, I can’t say where I stand, unless I can be told. I am training on my own at the moment,” said Mokondelela.
