Orlando Pirates may look to use Lehlogonolo Masalesa as leverage in their attempts to try and land Cole Alexander from Polokwane City.
As reported in today’s issue of Soccer Laduma, the Buccaneers are eager to try and bring in the 26-year-old midfield man, but know that they are not the only side looking at him and are trying to beat their rivals, such as Kaizer Chiefs, to his signature.
At present, Alexander finds himself in a tricky situation because it appears that he is not playing because of his refusal to sign a contract extension, however if he manages to hold out then he will become a free agent at the end of the season.
In order to get there first, the Siya crew have been led to believe that the Buccaneers will use out-of-favour ‘Vieira’ as part of a swap deal to bring Alexander in Eric Tinkler’s ranks.
However, it is also thought that, should Pirates be unsuccessful in nabbing Alexander, then Masalesa could be on his way to Polokwane anyway in search of regular game time in one of the next two transfer windows.
