Memela Credits Bucs Teammates For Confidence
Orlando Pirates' Luvuyo Memela Credits His Teammates
Orlando Pirates attacker Luvuyo Memela is playing some of the best football of his Bucs career in the current campaign.
The 30-year-old who hails from Cape Town has already bagged two league goals in just nine league appearances and looks sure to complete the campaign with the most amounts of appearances for his club since joining the Soweto giants in the 2015/16 season.
His performances this season most notably against Baroka FC were capped off with Pirates extending the midfielder’s contract until 2020. The attacker has told Soccer Laduma that he owes his new found confidence to his teammates and to the club.
“As a club, it’s been a challenging season for us, however, on a personal note I’m happy with the progress I have made a player,” Memela told the Siya crew.
“I have been at the club for three seasons now and it’s important that as a player I show my value. My teammates have supported me and this has given me the confidence to grow and deliver some good performances for the team.
“It also feels good knowing that the club has backed me by extending my stay for another two years. It means I will spend more time playing with my teammates and hopefully achieve important accolades for the supporters,” concluded the midfielder.
Memela will look to maintain his current form for the Buccaneers, as the club looks to improve on its current form.
