Orlando Pirates’ Kudakwashe Mahachi has given an update on the team’s pre-season preparations and how they are looking forward to their first match of the season.
The Buccaneers will get their 2018/19 Absa Premiership season with a match against newly promoted Highlands Park at the Orlando Stadium on August 04.
The match will be followed by a trip to the Eastern Cape for the match against Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on August 08.
Mahachi, who joined Bucs during this transfer window with eight other new players, says all is well in camp and that the team is looking forward to the first match.
“We’ve got a good team and we’ve had a good pre-season and we are waiting for our first game. Every time I wake up and I go to work I enjoy it because Orlando Pirates is a big club and everyone wants to play for a big team, so I’m happy to be here. I wanted to play for Pirates since I was young so I’m happy for this,” Mahachi told the media.
The Zimbabwean winger says he is looking forward to making Bucs’ fans happy with his performances.
“As a player, you need to work hard to earn your place to play, so I need to work hard. Everyone knows that the fans love their team so I need to work hard as a player so that the fans can be happy,” concluded the 24-year-old.
