Orlando Pirates have confirmed the return of their players that have been in Brazil for the Olympic Games.
Abbubaker Mobara, Gift Motupa, Thabiso Kutumela and Tercious Malepe were all a part of the South African U23 team in Brazil.
While Menzi Masuku has also been with Owen da Gama’s side in Brazil, he has not been mentioned on the list of Bucs’ players that have reported for duty at the Soweto giants on their return from the Olympics.
In their transfer update last month, Pirates confirmed on the club’s official website that Masuku had been transferred to Chippa United, although the player was later quoted disputing the move.
Chippa have been expecting the player to join the club in the Eastern Cape on his return from Brazil. However, as reported by the Siya crew yesterday, the Chilli Boys are seemingly giving up in their chase of the player, with indications that the deal for him to join the club from Pirates could be called off.
The Buccaneers took to the club’s official website to confirm the SA U23 players joining the team in their preseason camp, with Masuku’s name notably not on the list.
The four Bucs Olympians, Abbubaker Mobara, Gift Motupa, Thabiso Kutumela and Tercious Malepe have re-joined the team for its third and final camp ahead of the start of the new 2016/2017 PSL season.
The quartet rejoined the Team yesterday at the High Performance Institute in Potchefstroom.
As reported by the Siya crew, Masuku has had scouts from Austria monitoring him when he played during SA’s unsuccessful campaign at the Rio Olympics.
