Orlando Pirates are likely to be without one of their regular goalkeepers against Ajax Cape Town tonight.
In their penultimate ABSA Premiership game for the 2016/17 campaign, Bucs are scheduled to host Ajax at the Orlando Stadium tonight.
The Soweto giants took to their official website to confirm that Siyabonga Mpontshane is likely to miss the game against the rejuvenated Mother City side.
Mpontshane has been one of the regulars in Kjell Jonevret's line-ups since the Swedish tactician took charge of the coaching reigns at Bucs.
Bucs also provided an update on the injury picked up by winger Thembinkosi Lorch against Highlands Park last month.
"Winger Thembinkosi Lorch will miss the remaining games of the season as he is due to undergo surgery. Lorch, who sustained a shoulder injury in the goalless draw against Highlands Park last month, will go under the knife to repair a joint capsule and ligaments injury," the club stated on their official website.
"Meanwhile, the Bucs medical team has cleared goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane to resume training with the rest of the team after recovering from his injury.
"However, the 31-year old looks set to miss out the ABSA Premiership clash against Ajax Cape Town tonight."
In Mpontshane's absence, Jonevret and his technical team will have to choose their goalkeeper for tonight's game from a selection of Jackson Mabokgwane, Brighton Mhlongo and Nigerian Emmanuel Daniel.
