Career-Threatening Injury Update For Bucs Striker
Orlando Pirates Have Provided An Update On Injured Striker
An update has been given on a career-threatening injury suffered by one of Orlando Pirates' influential strikers.
The club has confirmed that Thabiso Kutumela has started what is expected to be a long journey to recovery from a serious injury he suffered recently.
As already confirmed by the Soweto giants, and reported by the Siya crew, Kutumela is out for the rest of the 2017/18 season due to a serious injury he suffered from training.
The Buccaneers have now confirmed that the player is in the process of his journey to recovery, having successfully undergone an ankle surgery.
“Thabiso Kutumela has begun his long journey to full recovery after undergoing a successful ankle surgery two weeks ago. The 24-year old has started physiotherapy albeit at light intensity as he is gradually introduced to strengthening work,” Pirates confirmed on the club’s official website.
“Previously, orlandopiratesfc.com stated that Kutumela will be out for between 4-6 weeks after his operation but the Bucs medical team is cautious about rushing the forward’s recovery and for this reason, they’ll not commit to an actual return date,” the club confirmed.
Bucs have also provided an update on the progress of Diamond Thopola, who has also been sidelined with an injury.
“Meanwhile, defender Diamond Thopola is said to be nearing full fitness and is expected to start training fully with the rest of the team on Monday. According to the Bucs medical team, Diamond has fared well in his rehabilitation process and has little to no discomfort or pain in the affected area,” confirmed the club.
