Trio Suspended As Title Race Reaches Climax
Just three players will be forced to sit out this weekend’s round of Absa Premiership fixtures, with Orlando Pirates looking to try and extend their lead at the top even further.

The Buccaneers will not be worried about any suspensions for their clash with Free State Stars, but they do have the chance to go six points clear due to the fact that Mamelodi Sundowns will once again be in CAF Champions League action.
Elsewhere in the title race, however, both SuperSport United and Polokwane City will be a man down as they battle it out to close the gap on Milutin Sredojevic’s side, with Matsatsantsa having Mxolisi Macuphu out and Rise & Shine missing Mpho Mvelase.
Before those games, though, will be Bidvest Wits against Chippa United on Friday evening, and – after the disappointment of an own goal v Bucs in his last game – Keegan Ritchie will have to sit this one out after picking up his fourth yellow of the season in the same match.
Elsewhere, there are 15 players at Kaizer Chiefs, Golden Arrows and Chippa United who are all at risk of missing their Nedbank Cup semi-final next week if they are booked in any of their matches in the next few days.
