Orlando Pirates’ date of the club's return in preparation for the new season has been confirmed.
The Buccaneers, who started the week by announcing nine new players for the new season, are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations for the 2018/19 PSL and continental campaigns.
Following the announcement of the new players, the club’s assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena officially welcomed them, where he emphasized on the importance of going beyond football and what happens on the pitch, as well as the club’s aim to develop good human beings in them, among other important topics.
Following an improved and fairly good season for the team under Head Coach Milutin Sredojevic and his technical team last season, Bucs will aim to continue where they left off with their impressive performances in the new season.
Sredojevic is aware that his team will be expected to win one or more from the five competitions in which Bucs will be involved – in the MTN8‚ Telkom Knockout‚ Nedbank Cup‚ PSL and the CAF Champions League.
The team’s work towards achieving their goals for the new season will begin next week. Bucs confirmed that the team has been scheduled to regroup on June 18 (next Monday), where the club’s nine new signings are set to join the rest of the squad for pre-season training.
Bucs also confirmed that the new Absa Premiership season is expected to start on the weekend of the 3-5 August 2018.
