Orlando Pirates have confirmed parting ways with Thamsanqa Sangweni, with the club indicating that the midfielder has been released after a meeting with the club.
Sangweni has already been announced as a signing for Chippa United. As earlier reported by the Siya crew, Chippa confirmed signing Sangweni, as well as Thabo Matlaba and Bernard Morrison from Pirates.
However, Pirates have confirmed parting ways Sangweni only so far, while there has been no update on Matlaba and Morrison. The central midfielder made only three appearances for Bucs during the entire season he has spent with the club.
The Buccaneers confirmed the latest developments on the club’s official website.
“Orlando Pirates would like to confirm that following a meeting with Thamsanqa Sangweni, both parties have agreed to his release to Chippa United. Orlando Pirates Football Club would like to wish Thami the best of luck in his future endeavours,” confirmed Pirates.
