Bucs Keeper Eyeing First Soweto Derby Appearance
Orlando Pirates Goalkeeper Keen On Playing In The Soweto Derby
An Orlando Pirates goalkeeper is looking forward to playing in his first Soweto derby this coming weekend.
Pirates will host Kaizer Chiefs an Absa Premiership match at the FNB Stadium on Saturday. Jackson Mabokgwane, who was in goals for Bucs in their 4-2 win over Chippa United this past weekend, is looking forward to playing against Chiefs.
Having closed the gap between themselves and Mamelodi Sundowns to only four points, The Buccaneers will aim to keep piling the pressure on the log leaders in the remaining matches of the season.
Mabokgwane says the team will play against Chiefs with the fans in mind.
“If I play, it will be my first derby so I’ll be looking forward to it. I’m excited because the magnitude of the game is huge. Especially for the fans because they get the bragging rights if we win. It’s a big game for us all,” said Mabokgwane as confirmed on Bucs’ official Twitter account.
After the Chiefs game, Bucs will have a trip to KwaMashu’s Princess Magogo Stadium for their next league assignment against Golden Arrows on March 17.
