Orlando Pirates are finalising their preparations for their upcoming match against Bidvest Wits.

The Buccaneers will visit the Bidvest Stadium for their Absa Premiership match against The Students on Saturday. Wits beat Pirates in both their matches in the league last season, as Gavin Hunt and his team went on to win the title at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

The first round match was the 1-2 loss for Bucs at the Orlando Stadium, with both goals for Wits scored by Gabadinho Mhango, while Happy Jele netted for the Soweto giants.

The second round match at the Bidvest Stadium was the 0-1 loss for Bucs. On current form, Pirates are the favourites for this weekend’s match. Bucs have not lost a single match from the five they have played so far this season, while Wits have lost three from their five.

Former Pirates defender, Lucas Tlhomelang, is pleased for the team’s progress so far this season under Coach Milutin Sredojevic.

“The Buccaneers have improved a lot from the team they were last season. There are fresh legs (new players) in the team and that has resulted into a lot of action taking place in the team. The changes that have been made from the technical team to the players are working. The structure is there and it is working. I think now there is a chance to win trophies again, after a long time. There is a lot of competition in the team as there are no players owning positions. I know that we (Pirates) are still lacking upfront, but we are doing well. So far, so good,” the former defender told the Siya crew.

Pirates form this season: W-D-W-D-W

Wits league form this season: L-D-L-D-L

I'm not a fan of both the teams but i would like to see Pirates beat Wits. Especially after what Mhango did and what the other mlungu did to Steve.

Gavin Hunt seem to be loosing his edge, his tactics are not working for him at the moment. Mhango is the poison in the team, get rid of him as soon as possible.

As for Soccerladuma bludy agents, they are furious that THE MIGHTY BUCS haven't lost a match as yet...their favourite cows have lost & this pains them to the core.

I personally think this match will end as a draw. And if not a draw then pirates is going to win 1-0.

This is not easy game for Bucs, playing with the team in search for first win of the season, and Wits is always perform very well if they play against Pirates or Chips....But pleasing performance shown by Bucs I think they will stop this thing losing against Wits.

Yes it shows signs of a team but i still not satisfied with the positional of the players, e.g Nyadama is not comfortable in the holding middlefield. i think coach must shift him to central but Munetsi on holding and Matlaba on Makola's role. So we can have move foward protect the back four.
