Pirates Comment On Signings

Orlando Pirates' Floyd Mbele comments on Bucs signings

By Soccer Laduma - Jun 12, 2018 04:04 PM

Orlando Pirates have been hard at work recruiting new players ahead of the start of the 2018/19 season.

On Monday the Siya crew reported on all the nine signings concluded by the Soweto giants. The club has said that these are the signings they have been wanting to make.

“These are the signings and the positions identified by our technical team and the players we have signed are the ones we wanted,” Bucs Administrative officer, Floyd Mbele told the crew.

“We knew who we wanted and we’ve got them. As a team, we stated our ambition of competing not only on the domestic front but also within the continent and we need a big enough squad to do that.

“The players who have joined us will help the team in achieving those objectives. They are quality players that’s why we chose them to be part of the squad,” he added.

Meanwhile, the club has hinted at more signings during the transfer window which officially opens on 1 July. As always, the crew will be bringing you the latest in all the PSL’s transfer updates and news.

Not all of them wll make it. some wll soon be released while some wll b loaned out kkkkkkk come end of next season.. Look at Thami Sangweni he is a great player nobody can deny his quality bt he is failing to make the grade at Mayfair, so am nt afraid of these groups of signings..

I am scared, hey I think they signed too much, too much quality sometimes brings uneasines, egos, lack of unity, which I think that is what we need most in this journey we gonna presume, but i pray to God to help us as pirates family to achieve our dreams, we did what we suppose to do right, now is upon to you almighty to give us luck and blessings, our management dd what they could do,but beside you our God, we are nothing, we need your intervention Holy of the holies amen.

Teams have a tendency of signing players they will never use. The squad that plays in the psl becomes automatical choice for Africa. When the fatigue catch up with the players they become surprised. So signing too many players will back fire.

Team with ambitious they don't sign for the sake of signing. They sign players with purpose, because they know they are not only aiming for domestic cups but to conquer Africa as well. Well done Bhakaniya

@bucs4sure I disagree with you. Mbekile is a good signing. he has made 56 appearance for Swinedoowns but was dropped last season. He also has 3 Bafana caps to show his potential. Watch him at Pirates if given a chance. He has to grab the chance because age is not on his side
