The festivities happened on the field at Orlando Stadium as Buccaneers joined the youngsters in sack races and on bouncy castles, giving the kids the chance to spend some quality time with their heroes.
A statement explained, “This is the first year of the initiative, which is based in the purpose of giving back time and effort to talented children that may someday be the next stars of Orlando Pirates FC or South Africa.”
Meanwhile, Thandi Merafe, the club’s Media Officer, said, “Together with LG, it was a heart-warming occasion to give back to the community, including sporting, fun activities, donation of three LG 43” FHD TVs to Thabisang, Mzamo and Mbuyisa Makhubo Primary Schools, and an inspirational talk to 100 children from the Ikageng orphanage in the spirit that Tata Madiba inspired.”
Pirates get their new campaign underway next weekend when they host Highlands Park on August 4th.
