Orlando Pirates defender, Happy Jele, has confirmed that he was arrested and that he was later released on bail.

It was reported yesterday (Monday) that the football star was arrested for speeding. He was reportedly travelling in a BMW 135i allegedly at a speed of 223km/h in a 120km/h zone near Sandton on Monday morning.

He was caught for speeding by Gauteng Traffic Police. The experienced player has since spoken about the arrest and confirmed that he has been released on bail. 

The 30-year-old has apologised to the supporters and for bringing his club into disrepute.

In a statement issued by Bucs on the club's official Twitter account, Jele says he takes full responsibility for his actions and has apologised for recklessness.

@@McCoora, At my family member's funeral? If it may be the case I will ask that for you. Speeding on the roads is something that is happening all over the world and we all know that is not acceptable but we keep on doing it. what would you do if you were the one who had been caught driving at that speed? The only thing you have to do in situation like that is to accept the fine and apologise for your wrong act.

@Faysal, generally, Bucs camp is notorious for criminal activities, since last season, one player was found to have used cocaine, another in possession of unlicensed firearm, another assaulted a young lady believed to be his girlfriend, another exchanged blows with his Coach, now this. I don't know why there is total disregard of law by Bucs players.
