Despite crashing out of the Nedbank Cup last month Orlando Pirates Administrative Chip whip Floyd Mbele says there is no pressure on the club’s technical staff for silverware.
The Nedbank Cup and the league title were the Soweto giants' only hope of attaining silverware for the season. However, despite losing out on the cup competition Mbele has insisted that Bucs technical staff is under no pressure from management to deliver any trophies this season.
“In the previous season we did not do well as a club so it was important that this season we re-instil our winning identity and philosophy which I believe the current technical team has done,” Mbele told Soccer Laduma.
“Based on last season’s performance we were not ready to win the league so to be where we are now is a remarkable achievement by our technical staff. Since arriving at the club, both coach Milutin Sredojević and coach Rulani Mokwena have done well in re-establishing our winning philosophy.
“That is what we are focusing on as a team for now. We will need to get back to winning ways before we effectively challenge for silverware,” concluded the Bucs man.
The Buccaneers are currently in the running for the league title, with hopes to secure some silverware at the end of this campaign.
