Orlando Pirates confirmed that Happy Jele has penned a new contract with the club.
It was recently reported by the Siya crew in edition 1081 of Soccer Laduma that the veteran defender remains in the team’s plans, despite the fact that there had been no confirmation of a new contract for him at the time.
The Buccaneers have confirmed that the club has reached an agreement with the player, extending his stay at the club.
"Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that captain Happy Jele has signed on the dotted line to extend his stay on board the Buccaneers ship for another season," confirmed Bucs on the club's official website.
"The deal was concluded after a brief meeting between the player and club management on Tuesday. Jele will be celebrating his 12th season as an Orlando Pirates player when the 2018/19 season kicks off this weekend," concluded the Soweto giants.
Jele, 31, and his teammates at Bucs are looking forward to their opening game of the 2018/19 season against Highlands Park this weekend.
