Orlando Pirates Announce New Partnership With Petroleum Company
Orlando Pirates have announced a new partnership with a petroleum company.
The Buccaneers have confirmed partnering with Caltex South Africa for an undisclosed period of time.
“Orlando Pirates Football Club is proud to announce its official fuel partnership with Caltex South Africa. With its roots stretching back to 1936, Caltex was formed through the merging of the California Texas Oil Company and Standard Oil Company (which went on to become Chevron), and like Orlando Pirates are celebrating eight decades of existence filled with great influence across all walks of society.
“The similarities between the two powerhouse brands do not just stop at their inception dates, but extends to a prominent feature in their insignia which is recognised by all and sundry, wherever it may be seen.
“The Caltex Star, like the gold star that adorns the Buccaneers’ crest, is a symbol of quality, value and service, and remains a constant reminder of a commitment that began a long time ago to do the best in bringing satisfaction to all who come in contact with the petroleum and football giants along their life’s journey,” Pirates confirmed on the club’s official website.
Chevron Sales General Manager, Price Njokweni, said: “Caltex and Orlando Pirates are two well-established brands who share a passion for performance and excellence. Between them, they have over 160 years of combined experience and expertise in their respective fields in South Africa.
“As a brand, we look forward to the unique opportunity to tap into the millions of supporters who also constitute our customer base as we partner to fuel South Africa’s first ever CAF Champions League winner.
Pirates’ Brand Activation Manager, Tokoloho Moeketsi, expressed delight in having Caltex as an official partner of the club.
“This partnership with Caltex speaks volumes to the character of this Club. Even after eighty years of existence, we continue to attract leading brands within their respective industries to partner with us in our strategy to take the Club forward into the next evolution of our growth plans.
“One of our aims is to drive the positive change in the football sponsorship landscape in a way that brings value to the Club, its supporters and South Africa as a whole. The association with one of the world’s top petroleum companies, who constantly research and develop new ways to bring you the best products, speaks to the Club’s vision as we push ourselves beyond imaginable limits. We are pleased to be fuelled by Caltex along this journey of discovery,” he said.
