Platinum Stars’ man of the moment Luvolwethu Mpeta has attracted interest from some of the PSL’s big guns in Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates who are said to be targeting the 24-year-old left-back.
Siya sources have revealed that both Downs and Bucs are engaged in a rat race for Mpeta’s signature in the upcoming January transfer window period.
Mpeta has been a revelation for Dikwena this season having featured for the North West side in league fixtures. Furthermore, his performances at left-back have earned him a call-up to Shakes Mashaba’s new look Bafana Bafana team to face both Sudan and Nigeria in the final two 2015 CAF African Cup of Nations qualifiers .
A source further revealed that a Pirates scout was sent to watch Mpeta during this past weekend’s Telkom Knockout clash against Sundowns.
“What is happening is that both teams have made proposals to the team (Dikwena) and they are waiting to be given the go-ahead to speak to the player for personal terms.”
“However Pirates have…,” revealed the source.
