Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Solomon Okpako, is still at Chippa United although his future with the club remains in doubt.
The Nigerian has struggled for game time at the Cape side this season. He joined the club on a one-year deal at the beginning of the 2013/14 campaign.
“Solomon Okpako is a Chippa United player. He has a contract with the club. His contract will only be up at the end of the season. The club has an option to keep him, but this is football and you can never know,” a source close to the player revealed.
According to the club’s CEO, Peter Koutroulis, contract negotiations and the other plans for next season will only resume after the club’s promotion to the PSL has been confirmed.
Okpako first arrived in South Africa when he joined Sundowns in the 2011/12 season.
