Swallows Confirm ‘Big Fish’ Signing

Swallows have caught a ‘big fish’ as their latest off season transfer with the DStv Premiership campaign just two weeks away!

The Siya crew has had it confirmed by the Dube Birds chairman David Mogashoa that striker Mwape Musonda has put pen to paper on a two-year contract.

“He’s a big fish for us because we know what he did the last time he was in the PSL,” the Swallows boss said in reference to Musonda’s spell with Black Leopards prior the player moving to the UAE in October last year.

“We have signed him on a two-year deal with an option to extend it for a further two seasons. This shows how serious we are about beefing up coach Brandon Truter’s squad and we hope Musonda can deliver like we know he can.”

The burly Zambian clinched the Golden Boot award two years ago with 16 goals from 28 matches at Leopards, but managed just nine the following season.

He was reportedly on the radar of Kaizer Chiefs having played for Orlando Pirates when he initially arrived in SA during the 2015/16 campaign.

Indications were that Musonda would join AmaZulu when he came back to Mzansi as a free agent a few weeks ago, but the Siya crew had been informed that the two parties could not agree on personal terms – and now the ‘big fish’ has been captured in Soweto!
