Just a few months shy of it it being a year since Darren Keet returned to Mzansi, the goalkeeper has signed for a new club in the DStv Premiership.
On Monday morning Cape Town City announced that the Bafana Bafana goal minder, who has agreed a short term deal with Cape United in the lower division following his return from Belgium, has joined and is expected to be their No.1 keeper.
The Siya crew reported that Keet would be joining the Citizens back in May, and now the club has confirmed.
Speaking about his signing, the 31-year-old said he was keen to add to his trophy collection in SA football.
“Looking at my future plans, Cape Town was a good place to start and obviously the opportunity arose. I want to be a part of something big and extra special," said Keet.
"One of the only things I wanted to achieve since I was young was be one of the best goalkeepers in SA. I’ve won all the trophies and had the experience of winning the PSL (league title) before, I definitely want more. I am not coming here to settle for anything less."
