University of Pretoria's Atusaye Nyondo announced his arrival at AmaTuks with a bang in Tuks’ 2-0 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic last Saturday, however the Malawian striker will miss the side’s Absa Premiership clash against Platinum Stars on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old striker joined AmaTuks after being released from SuperSport United at the end of the 2012/13 PSL season.
Nyondo, along with strike partner Geoffrey Massa, both made their debuts for AmaTuks this past weekend, in what proved to be fruitful combination.
As early as the 16th minute, Nyondo got himself onto the score sheet via a cheeky lob over Celtic goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb.
Meanwhile, Massa fired a rocket of a free-kick just two minutes later, which doubled the home side’s lead and ultimately secured Tuks their first three points of the 2013/14 Absa Premiership campaign.
AmaTuks head coach, Steve Barker, revealed to the Siya crew that although Nyondo enjoyed a good debut, he will be side-lined for the match against Dikwena, after suffering a head injury against Celtic.
Barker said, "It was good for both our debutants to get on the score sheet. Unfortunately Atusaye picked up a head injury, so he won't be available for tomorrow's match."
AmaTuks travel to the unbeaten Platinum Stars in both sides’ fifth match of the PSL season, which has the potential to be a mouth-watering clash, with Tuks fresh off a 2-0 win over Celtic and Stars still one of four unbeaten sides so far this season.
