If news landing at Siya crew’s desk is anything to go by, Platinum Stars midfielder, Bongani Nyathi, could be on his way to Polokwane City. The Bushbuckridge-born player has also played for Free State Stars.
The news come after coach Boebie Solomons recently revealed that he wants to sign players with experience at the highest level as he wants to stay in the premiership.
The former Blomfontein Celtic assistant coach caught up with the Siya crew and revealed that he will announce new signings in the next 48 hours.
“We’re very close to finalising our signings and ensuring that we have our situation under control. We’re a small team and obviously we lack that financial muscle so we are not rushing to sign players but we are very close to sign a few. Within the next day or two, we have to get experienced campaigners to boost our chances of staying in the PSL. Sibande, Maluleke and Bongani Nyathi from Stars are training with us and I believe we can announce something soon,” said Solomons.
Although the crew previously reported that former Ajax Cape Town striker, Alcardo van Graan, could sign for the PSL rookies. The coach confirmed that the player is there but would like to take a look at him.
“Yea Nyathi is also here and I’m looking at a number of players but we’ll see who do we sign. As I said before, I need experienced guys who will add value to the team immediately. I don’t have time for players who will wait to find their feet. I’m a also thinking of a striker or two, yea Alcardo is here and you know that he’s not a professional at the moment and I will no rush to sign him,” said the Cape Town-born tactician.
