Nyatama Happy To See Bucs' Set-Pieces Paying Off
Man of the Match Musa Nyatama was pleased to see Orlando Pirates profit from two set-pieces against Maritzburg United.
Pirates moved into second spot following a 2-1 win over Maritzburg at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
As a consequence, they moved within five points of league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns after Thabiso Kutumela and Happy Jele both scored from set-pieces which pleased Musa Nyatama.
“That’s our game plan. We tried to manipulate one side and play through the middle and try to squeeze passes to our third half. We also managed to score from set-pieces today and I’m very happy about that,” Nyatama told SuperSport after the game.
The victory comes after their midweek capitulation at the hands of Ajax Cape Town, and it’s massive points that will stand them in good stead for the remainder of the campaign.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic man knew they were going to be in for a torrid evening against a side who have shown their capabilities to punch with the league’s top guns this season.
“It was very hard but I’m happy because we stuck to our tactics. We knew they were going to play with three at the back so we thought let’s match them pound for pound.
“But I’m happy with the points. It will take us somewhere,” he said.
