Golden Arrows striker Bonginkosi Ntuli’s agent, Mandla Mthembu, has refuted recent media reports that the player extended his contract earlier this month.
The burly marksman has been on the wanted list of the likes of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, but the Siya crew was informed by sources at Arrows that he had extended his deal. The club’s chairperson, Mato Madlala, herself confirmed to the crew that there was massive interest but that they were keeping the player.
Asked about the latest developments, the player said, “Yes, I’m staying at the club, but I can’t tell you about the length of my contract, as I’m still waiting for my copy of the contract.”
His agent revealed, “That’s an old story. I saw someone recently wrote that he has extended his contract with Arrows, but he did so back in September last year. In fact, it was not a case of extending his deal more than it was that of improving his package. They wanted to motivate him and make him happier. He will definitely move at the end of the season. He needs to help the team avoid relegation, which is why he’s staying now.”
Asked when his current deal with the Durban side will be expiring, the agent said, "It does not matter because he will be moving at the end of the season."
