The South African Football Association’s (SAFA) deputy president, Mwelo Nonkonyana, is keeping his cards close to his chest regarding his chances to become part of the upcoming elections later this year.
SAFA will hold their elections in September, to elect the president of the association. The current president of SAFA, Kirsten Nematandani, and deputies Danny Jordaan, Irvin Khoza and Mandla Mazibuko are some of the leaders expected to contest for the presidency, come the elections in September.
“I will keep everything to myself for now. Hopefully, by next month (July), I will have already decided,” said Nonkonyana.
The Siya crew received information that there has been an attempt to exclude Nonkonyana from some meetings of the Football Transformation Forum (FTF), including the recent visit to Kimberley.
