Free State Stars have decided against signing Jabulani Ncubeni and Phikolomzi Kefile. The two players were on trial at Stars until recently, however were asked to stop training with the team.
Both players are free agents and being eligible to sign outside of the transfer window, they were both hoping to land PSL deals with the Bethlehem-based side.
“Both players have stopped training with the team. Phikolomzi has gone back to Jo’burg. The last time I heard about ‘JB’ (Ncubeni) was when he went back to KZN. The players were told that the team has too many midfielders,” a source revealed.
The Ea Lla Koto technical team is happy with the current squad after signing Danny Venter from Bloemfontein Celtic and Fikru Tefera, with the latter being signed on a free during the January transfer window.
Ncubeni and Kefile have struggled to find a new club since parting ways with Maritzburg United and Santos respectively.
