Word coming out of Zimbabwe is that the Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) Special Appeals Committee is still to make its ruling on the appeal cases involving former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Method Mwanjali and Wits defender Thomas Sweswe.
The two players are appealing the life bans imposed by Zifa after they were found guilty of receiving bribes from a Malaysian-based syndicate in 2009.
Zifa lawyer Ralph Maganga told Newsday that the Zifa Special Appeals Committee was still deliberating on the two cases, heard on Monday and Tuesday.
“There is no ruling on the two cases yet. The Special Appeals Committee is still deliberating and the judgment on the two will be communicated through the Zifa office. We don’t know when they will be through,” said Maganga.
Meanwhile, the appeal case of former Warriors coach and Black Leopards coach Sunday Chidzambwa was not heard as he had apparently not paid the full installment of the appeal fees.
Chidzambwa is also challenging his ban from football.
