SuperSport United’s new signing, Dino Ndlovu, will not be able to play in Matsatsantsa’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign due to registration delays.
As predicted by the Siya crew, Ndlovu joined SuperSport on a six-month loan earlier today, returning to South Africa from Israeli side, Maccabi Haifa.
The Tshwane-based outfit were hoping to have the 23-year-old registered in time to get him into their squad for the Confed Cup, although their CEO, Stan Matthews, has said that they were too late to do so.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Matthews said, “Unfortunately due to delays we weren’t able to get him registered in time and as it stands Dino will only be able to play in the PSL and Nedbank Cup. I am going to try and get special dispensation for him, but I don’t know if that’ll happen.”
The crew were informed that, in order to play in the tournament, players must first be registered with the PSL, something that SuperSport weren’t able to do before tonight’s CAF deadline at midnight.
