Fresh on the back of being named in the U20 African Cup of Nations team of the tournament, the talented 19-year-old was thrown onto the field in the second half of Chiefs' clash with Maritzburg United, surprisingly in place of their current top scorer, Khama Billiat.

Chiefs were looking to get a handle on the game after a difficult first half, and the youngster played his role in helping them regain control of the game as Dumisani Zuma went on to score what would eventually be the winning goal.

Here are Ngcobo's stats for his Chiefs debut:

Touches: 31

Passes: 24

Pass accuracy: 83%

Dribbles: 1 (100% success)

Shot assists: 1

Balls won: 5

Balls lost: 9

The player's head coach, Ernst Middendorp, will have been delighted with Ngcobo's solid showing in his first Chiefs outing, and especially by the lack of unsuccessful touches in his game - proving that he certainly wasn't overawed by the experience.

Now Ngcobo will have turned his attention to SuperSport United later this week and will be keen to try and earn his first Chiefs start to follow on from his first team debut.

Do you think Ngcobo should start v SuperSport?
