Kaizer Chiefs’ opponents for the quarterfinal stage of this season’s Telkom Knockout are yet to be finalised, despite the draw having been concluded on Monday.
The draw was held last night at the SuperSport Studio 6 in Randburg, Johannesburg, although tonight’s fixture between Mpumalanga Black Aces and Orlando Pirates will determine who Chiefs’ opponents will be at the quarterfinal stage of the TKO.
Depending on tonight’s result, Amakhosi will either face Free State Stars or Black Aces in an away game on the weekend of the 19th and 20th of October.
Speaking to the media at last night’s launch, midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi is adamant that Amakhosi will go all the way this season.
“We have played Aces before, early this season, and they are a very good side. They showed that they can hold it against the best, and as for Free State Stars, we all know how stubborn they are.
“This is one trophy we didn't win last season and we don't care who we will be meeting. What we want is just a win and to proceed to the next round. It won't be easy no matter which team we meet, but we are determined to go one better this season and win more trophies, and this is one of them,” Nkosi stated with confidence.
