SuperSport United are involved in the 2013 edition of the CAF Confederation Cup after winning last season’s Nedbank Cup, and with this year’s edition of the FA Cup under way, the Tshwane-based side is looking to defend their crown.
On Saturday Matsatsantsa started the defence of their title against Moroka Swallows, defeating them 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out, and defender Davies Nkausu says that they want to go all the way.
No team in the Nedbank Cup history has won back-to-back titles, with SuperSport aiming to be the first. Nkausu said that they will focus on all thee tournaments they are still involved in, in the CAF Confederation Cup, the league and the Nedbank Cup.
“We want to defend our cup. We had not won other trophies apart from the league for sometime and we can't just let it go like that. We started with a tough team in Swallows and that gave us the chance to see that we can still do it this season.
“Every team wants to win and we have to fight hard to defend it,” the Zambian international concluded.
