Mamelodi Sundowns defender Siyabonga Ngubane has penned a six-month loan deal with University of Pretoria.
The 23-year-old has been brought into the AmaTuks camp as a replacement for Ramahlwe Mphahlele, who was brought back to Chloorkop by coach Pitso Mosimane during the current January transfer window.
A source at Sundowns has confirmed to the Siya crew that Ngubane, who has been on tour in Zimbabwe with the Brazilians, is on his way back to South Africa to conclude the deal that will see him finish the campaign with last season’s NFD champions.
“I can tell you now that Ngubane is joining University of Pretoria until the end of the season. If there any other deals as part of the loan move, I think the two teams will discuss at a later stage, but for now he is replacing Mphahlele on the loan deal," the source said.
Should the right-back impress at Tuks, coach Steve Barker could look to make his stay permanent at the end of the loan spell.
