After narrowly missing out on a play-off place, Thanda Royal Zulu coach Mlungisi Ngubane said it was just not the right time for his team.
Amabhubesi claimed a 1-1 draw at Mpumalanga Black Aces on Sunday, but had to settle for fourth place as the final goal just eluded their reach.
“I thought we gave our best. The guys tried, but when it’s not for you, it’s not for you because we had a very clear chance. We just needed that one goal, but we missed it. So we have to accept that because it is not us who is writing the script, it’s God who writes those scripts and we cannot do anything,” said Ngubane.
“Our time will come, it is not our time now and we will keep on going and give or best.”
Commenting on the status of the National First Division, Ngubane said he hopes to see an improvement in the league next season.
“So many things happened in this first division, but because people are playing games we ended up like this today. First division is a good league and PSL is doing well, but there are people who are destroying first division and they must sort it out,” he added.
