While a number of NFD clubs are expected to appear before the PSL DC this week, Soccer-Laduma has learnt from a reliable source that Thanda Royal Zulu and Santos have both appealed against a previous judgement which annulled their match.
The two clubs failed to honour a fixture in September 2012 as part of an ‘agreed’ strike between second-tier outfits but with Amabhubhesi and The People’s Team narrowly missing the play-offs and automatic promotion, respectively, they decided to take matter further.
“I know that Santos and Thanda are both going that route,” a source told Soccer-Laduma. “I don’t know about Mpumalanga Black Aces but I can tell you African Warriors will also not just accept a ruling. Why did it take the whole season for the PSL to deal with these cases? Aren’t we supposed to be running a smooth league?
“What’ll happen if the cases go to Safa? Clubs might then be told, ‘Go back and play those games – it’ll be a big mess!’”
This news could jeopardise the play-offs which are set to begin on 29 May.
