Since the Siya crew reported that Orlando Pirates had signed Zambian international, Mwape Musonda from Africa Sport Youth Academy, the new Bucs striker has taken time to share his thoughts on joining the Buccaneers.
The former Zanaco man has described his move to the Soweto giants as a dream come true, having played against the Buccaneers in the CAF Champions League, even netting a goal at the FNB Stadium.
“I have been training with the guys since we started with the pre-season and I feel ok; the guys have welcomed me and I am feeling at home,” said Mwape on the Bucs official website.
“I played two pre-season friendlies (against Bloemfontein Celtic and Esperanca of Mozambique) so I am getting to gel well with the team, which is encouraging. I am getting used to the style of play and I understand the way the coach wants me to play. I can describe Eric as a good coach.”
“I have been watching these guys and it has always been my wish to one day play in the PSL. I am honoured to play for Orlando Pirates. It is a big team, not just here in South Africa they are an African giant. I can’t wait to get going and look forward to making my debut,” adds the striker.
Mwape joins a list of Zambians who played for Pirates which include Issac Chansa, Collins Mbesuma, Davis Mwape.
