Moroka Swallows have confirmed that goalkeeper Greg Etafia has signed a new three-year deal and thereby ending speculation about the player’s future at the club.
Swallows CEO Leon Prins confirmed to the Siya crew that Etafia has signed a new deal with the Dube Birds.
“Yes, Greg has signed a new three year contract with us, that I can confirm,” said Prins.
Meanwhile, the future of defenders Luvhengo Mungomeni, Ashraf Hendricks and Gift Mapemba, as well as midfielder Giorgi Nergadze, remains uncertain.
The four players’ contracts are ending in June and it’s unclear at this stage if they will remain with Swallows beyond the current season.
Asked about the players’ contracts, Prins said: “I’m in a meeting now. The Etafia deal is the only one I can confirm for now.”
According to sources, Wits are keen to sign Mungomeni, so Swallows would have to act quickly if they are to keep the former Mamelodi Sundowns defender.
